Lies Without, Within

I fear no horror of mortal hand
Nor twisted frame of mind
For me no Darkness can stalk the land,
Nor Dæmon so assigned,
I fear not what lies without,
But rather what lies within,
Be it a wicked shout,
Or some much darker sin.
For I’ve seen the Devil, yes
The ultimate evil deed.
It made my soul quite the mess
And sowed a lightless seed.
So I die and yet live,
My own... tortured... captive.
